Oh yes, indeed. I was limiting myself to a K-drama and manga example each, because they are medias that def. see a lot of uses. Manga tends to do better, actually, than dramas.

Literary uses are often more deft, too.

And yeah, it's true to life! Though my mom is the kind who wants to curl up in a corner and be left alone when she's sick, where I'm the kind who wants people streaming into my room with toast and tea and hands feeling for temperature, so I wouldn't actually know. I will have to train someone...

But I've definitely bonded with people over injuries. When I sprained my ankle, the people who helped me or thought to offer were my favorites forever, and some people I liked in general who didn't bother were kind of less my friends after. XD
