Nikki the Journal
I'm launching a project on Tumblr, mainly for my own amusement.
Nikki and the B-Sides
It's a memoir project where I'm blogging my current reactions to the journal I started to chronicle my move to Japan at 13.
Yes, I had every intention of publishing it.
No, I guess I haven't really grown out of the idea.
It will, however, require a certain amount of editing, which is why I wanted a format in which I could insert commentary.

The name I'm using so far for the Tumblr is a terrible, terrible series of puns.
First of all, the Japanese word for diary is "Nikki". Which is the name I chose for ease of pronunciation, and (as you may see in the intro above, because I cherished ideas of pseudonyms). The B-sides, are "Bethany", the 26 year old me's side of things.
I plan to cross post here, if that's not too obnoxious, but with cuts, of course. Lemme know what you think!

no subject
I've been (off-and-on) wondering how it would be possible to create a real book from the journals, how I could possibly edit it to be interesting and yet keep it authentic, too...
And the other day it came to me: Director's Cut. With commentary.
