This video is comprising a significant part of my personality this year.

I first saw it without any context except that it's a live performance from a favorite band, and it was a blisteringly good live performance.

Then I saw the documentary about this show--a live concert, developed completely to be streamed, by some top performers who wanted to build an experience that really connected them to their audience.

I haven't seen the full concert, though this slice of it and the documentary makes me wanna splurge on the DVD or whatever. But primarily, the added context gives me a sense of why the energy of this performance is so gripping.

And is part of a narrative about how artists sometimes have to go with crafting a seemingly-absurd vision of how their art is going to work in a moment that they didn't anticipate.

I don't know what that is for me yet, because I'm in a moment where I'm still figuring out the vision, not even to the point of knowing it's absurdity.
