I really think this meme started by tithenai  is a fascinating question:

Were I a summonable creature, what kind of ritual would you craft to summon me?



I don't think I'm a particularly interesting subject, so I vote you all go and play amongst yourselves.
I will join in there...
I figured you may not all read tithenai  or rachelmanija , though they are fascinating people and well worth following, so I took the sharing upon myself.


I'm thinking about the components of a magic right now.
A chalice of mead?  A sprig of thyme? Three circles of the clock and a question in rhyme?
I've written a few short stories in a world that I think would be perfect for a novel I'm planning, Letters to My Nemesis.
I have to take it from snapshots in stories mostly about relationships and make it fill a book. Which will still be dominated by relationship--but 10,000 words, while too long for a short story, is still a lot less than 70-90,000. The general semantic feel of a few moments has to become a cohesive world.

Intimidating.

uuuuuuuuuuuuuuum autumn leaves would be involved. They would have to be orangey. And maybe like powdered crow's feather--I don't like the actual feathers, but I do like the crow part, and I like the idea of sprinkling black dust over it.

For you (judging purely from LJ subjects, mind) I think there would be a cache of chocolate on a mountain-top and tantalizing fragments of philosophy thrown to the winds, with a requiem playing.

...I think I'm going to have trouble coming up with a summons ritual I wouldn't enjoy as much as the summoned...
Never mind me, I'm listening to distractingly remixed music and half writing a new ending to a story I've been working on for at least a year now...
