Besides his Tragic Background and Deep Insecurities, because those just come with the territory.
Sadly, I like his hair. But that's because I know it's only one step further into weird territory from the looks real Japanese high school boys put forward, and I was exposed to those at a tender age and there is no curing it.
Plus, he's acting out, but his impeccable sense for clothes is betraying him, he's gotta make his look a little ruffian somehow.
...or maybe when he's standing in front of the mirror, he's just easily bored.
