It's been 2 years, but I there's still no better words than "trousers" or "house", and they both have the wrong sound for this book.
Oh English. You fail me so infrequently, I just can't quite believe this.
in case of any suggestions: home is to personal to be used, though it's sound is better, and pants is also too sibilant and wrong-vowelled. All other words are of the wrong era.
Trouse and House must come from the same forebear language to English, and it's the wrong one... :(
