I'm reading Tinker by Wen Spencer, which is a fun little Bordertown type of story, like a mash-up of Cast in Shadow and Finder.
But.

everybody wants her.
And it would appear to me these characters are highly specific tastes.
But that's not the end issue.

She likes everyone, too.

Now I know not everyone is into burning bridges, but I'm not sure how many 18-year-old girl virgins are really so into all the guys that are into them. In my experience (personal feelings, sure, but also how my girlfriends have acted) is that there's the one guy you like and everyone else is a pest.
Maybe two are okay. But being flattered by come-ons by a handful of them? Not so much!

How is that Mary-Sue attractive?
Anyway. I don't understand why I've seen this so many times.
