...Maybe it's like the manga oneshot I reread yesterday where the teenaged heroine proposes marriage-when-I-grow-up to her widowed stepfather who has raised her since she was eight?
OH SHOUJO.
(I hasten to add that I only reread the oneshot because it came bundled at the back of Pearl Pink vol. 2, and I wanted to see if it was as fluffy-yet-disturbing as I remembered. IT WAS.)
I would try to rec you some new manga but I have the feeling that you've read way more than I have, so you've probably read it already.
Yeah, I know that one. It was fun and yet I was thinking "this is not something any reality would accept"
The new step-sibling trope is one that I find amusing. Akuma De Sourou/Devil Beside Me style. I just don't think about it. There are some where I'm like NO WAY NO HOW {smack of closing cover. Okay, tab of browser} even if they're not really related. Some aspects of the Twisted Shoujo mindset I just do not need to enter into.
I think it was supposed to mean inexplicit, though the not-really-related one, I can see that, too. Mostly I'm just laughing at the inadvertent comedy of the words, though.
Yeeeah. I do not read shoujo for psychological realism and so I am willing to handwave many, many relationships that would be ruinous in real life. But I do have limits.
I just don't know what these kids are thinking, sometimes. (It's a manga description online, I think they just weren't being very clear-minded about it, but still...)
