Day 10

Tell about your policy for asking to borrow books—are you a shameless mooch, tasteful alluder, or some other style?
(Stand-and-ignore-your-host in-house reader and conscienceless temporary larcenist are two other common style—some of us use varying styles with different sorts of acquaintance, so by all means detail it out!)

I am incapable of intentional larceny, unless we are speaking of bits of vegetation.
I am also very shy of asking people for favors until they've made it clear their shelves are my shelves, etc.

Now. I am *not* usually shy of snooping through shelves. I have always whiled away "homeschool moms" visits by find a likely book and settling in with it for small pieces of time until I felt guilty for not socializing and went out, only usually to wander back again.

These other families would often hurriedly offer to let me borrow it, which underestimated my speed of reading. I often finished small novels while at their house (childrens' novels, but still) or was perfectly happy to take it back up when I visited them again...

...wow, I'm getting kind of worn out, posting each day!
All the same, it's cool to have so many comments since I get to talk about old favorites some of you recognize...

I know what you mean about getting a bit tired, but you're doing so much better at staying on target than I am!

Well, it's my pet project, and also, I really would like to post every day I just don't want other people to be worn out by me, AND people are commenting on these posts! So I am drawn back by my love of feedback and conversation.

I think it is perfectly valid to do the month over as much time as it takes you, it's more about the discussion anyway. ^_^

I didn't get to see your magazine at the meeting, since you weren't there! Will you be at the November meeting, do you think?

I'm going to do my very best to be there. I've been very slack this year, for a lot of reasons. But I really, really want to make it to the November and December meetings, and then start being better next year.
