And now for a message from someone I haven't mentioned here before...

Merriwether Lewis is a melancholy bear.

He belongs to a grown-up girl, and he is her solitary stuffie.

This week she introduced him to her newest close friend, another grown-up girl with a bear she neglects not half so much.

(Little Panda is running for Best Bear--Merri supports his candidateship and so should you: he has cupcakes. Like Teddy's page, and then "like" Panda's photo to vote him in, if you like.)

Perhaps because of this example, or just because she is erratic, Merriwether found himself on the road Monday.


He spent a great bulk of the trip bundled up with her knitting, but got aired to see an old train and a forest.

More fun than sitting on the bookshelf, I guess.

 

 

...I am obviously a very bad bear-mother. :(
He looks so forlorn in photographs! I didn't notice he was so depressed until now...

And Merri is a long-suffering little fellow. I haven't entered him in the contest, but that train photo is tempting me...I just don't want him to suffer any more rejection than he already does. XD

Merriwether is adorable!! You are a much better bear-mother than I. My Bear-Bear that I can't bear to get rid of has been sitting forlornly in my closet for quite some time. :(

Merri is part of the landscape of home--I've moved a lot and he's one of the first things I make sure is out to establish My Place, so he sometimes travels with me for long-term stints.

...how did you find me here, by the way? I'm happy you did, but I'm curious if I mis-entered this blog instead of my craft one...
