I think every time I see that post I put up of quotes for L'Engle, it's going to give me a little shock of grief.
It matters to me more than I realized. I am glad that she has so many people commemorating her, though. She was a woman whose strength in balancing life, art, family, science, and being a novelist is really estimable. I am glad to know she knew God.
I have spent a lot of time finishing illustrations, sewing, getting ready to go, but my writing hasn't suffered. Of course. Time is the only thing that really makes my writing suffer. Too much work of the wrong kind for compatibility inevitably feeds the writing. It's having time to write that can be poisonous.
Life is paradox. I think Madeleine would agree.
