This poem, uh, borrowed *deeply* from the Oklahoman landscape as I'm familiar with it, and since Heroic Fantasy Quarterly has two editors from OK, my theory is that they recognized it, too.

Thank you! I find that though I dream up very different places to be in my fiction, when it comes to poetry I can really only ground it in places I'm intimate with. So, more aetherial stuff is set in Japan, more gritty stuff in the Oklahoman plain. ^-^
