I just read that Margaret Mahy has passed away.
She was over 70, but I really just met her, and this seems sad to me.
This morning I was prompted by the urge to write Robin McKinley, for real this time, and maybe I'll actually get the thing typed and off to her in real haste because really, of all people, she is my writing hero.
She's not who I want to *be*. She's the author whose books I lived in during hard times, though.
So.
...writing this letter is hard, but I'm glad to do it. Like writing books.
