These are the sort of things you create and try not to think about what profound throughts you could have been thinking if you'd resisted the urge...
Guess the tributes!       [not really. spare yourself the "What If?" agonies of wasted time.]

Rainbows on bubbles and great winged horses
Snowdays with Tumnus and werewolf keen noses
Gamboling kitsune, sly leprechauns
My favorite illusions, once seen and they're gone

Kings born in exile with old broken sabres
Changelings and deep wells and candles and prayers
Angry steep mountains with snow to hunt dwarves
Mad wives in attics and those fey secret drawers

Time full of wrinkles, impossible heroes
Wrestling with Grendel and magical bureaus
Avatars running from demigod des'ny
My fav'rite illusions are running away with me.

Alphabets forming from thornbush and briars
Phookas that prefer to ride on two tires
Redheads, tea, dragons, elves, shoes, steel, owls, rain
Here let me tell you my favorites again...

Hint: I cheated.

So, this instead of finishing another major edit on Beastly. I will scoping out new guinea pigs predictably later than I like and sooner than is good for you.

*ignores the "not really" and takes some guesses*

Great Winged Horses--made me think of the Magicians Nephew, but it could refer to alot of books
Tumnus--the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (of course!)
Kings born in exile with old broken sabers--Lord of the Rings?
Angry steep mountains with snow to hunt dwarves--also made me think of LotR, but I'm less sure about this one
Mad wives in attics--Jane Eyre?
Time full of wrinkles--A Wrinkle in Time
Wrestling with Grendel--Beowulf (duh.)
Well, 'Redheads' made me think immediately of the Hero and the Crown, but it could be many different books. :)

How'd I do?

"Kings born in exile" is one of the cheating parts because as just that it applies to "The Lost Prince" and even "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell"'s Raven King.

Redheads was Anne Shirley, but you're right, Aerin is there, too. I am collecting red-heads with good character profiles. *g*

Great winged horse...Magician's Nephew is a great one! Wasn't particularly thinking of anything, so that's another cheating one.

Caradras is definitely a steep mountain with snow to hunt dwarves. ^_^

Great work! Hah...

Oh, the whole line does refer to Aragorn.
