Yesterday we had a Nottingham Faire event at our house, the latest thing I've incited my family too in the line of dress-up-and-play-act parties.

Of course there were pictures.
Of the Gypsy camp...


Of costuming...



I take credit for the hood (which looked cooler when on right), and no responsibility for his make-up.
He did that all himself with jewelry polish from his work. (Very scary.)
Dan has a hidden talent for costuming, and would die if he knew I was posting this picture to my blog.
Since he refuses to read blogs he will *never know*.


I'm about to break 20,000 with Poisson. The rest, as they say, is gravy. Tasty gravy, since we haven't quite got to the climax yet.

I love this little book size.

Hah! I would not deprive you of the pleasure of writing your own story, dear...

Besides. The only way to write a lot is to sit down every day and write as much as you can. When I'm out of the habit it tends to be much smaller.

Go forth and make your own habit! (As long as it doesn't include gin.)

I do! I try. I usually get as far as the sit down part. I sit down every day and write nothing. Very little would be considered a good day.

Would gin help, you think?

Only if you're a brilliant drunk, darling. And if you're a brilliant drunk, writing may not be the right life for you. *g*

Sounds like you need to work on first-draft-freedom. We should correspond about this somewhere more convenient...
Primarily, though, start setting yourself a word-count (or page count) goal, small at first, and just write whatever it takes to write that much. The crap can come out later, okay?
