net-sentient, that is. Here's a little geek-love-club:
The "Walking Earth" or whatever episode of Batman Beyond that revolves around golems manupulated by a nuclear corpse: definitely the freakiest yet. (I'm into Season Two, now.) My favorite last season was "Shriek"--where Terry knocks over a bolt to tip off Villain, and flips some switch so you discover he's in a car plant--and just started the process rolling. All the noise of the mechanisms and metal banging together gives him cover! Until the guy cancels out every sound but his footsteps.
It was a bit goofy, but man, the poetic justice...and use of theme. It was great.
And I just finished Girl Genius, Vol. 3 (cursing my fast reading skillz.) Despite being put off by the drawing style. (Too many unnatural poses--it makes me tense myself.)
"Couldn't you have used a longer cord?"
"I used the cord that was there!"
That was the exchange that cracked me up most, in reading, but the one about "how are you going to be an evil tyrant without any weapons around?" came back to me to make me laugh. Toss up, I guess.
I actually love Jagerkin. I thought their accents would drive me crazy, swiftly followed by the aggravating realization I'd been condensing three characters into one, since all I was noticing was teeth--but then the range of the accent won me, swiftly followed by their mad Viking lust for pain. Also, the Heterodyne smell...
But I will not be finding that website yet. I am going to save it. Just like I was going to save Vol. 3, until I realized that was stupid.
