It really takes so little to make me happy...

+ AstroBoy Boxers = EEEEEE. kawai sugite, shini-sooooo*
(My day has officially been made...)

Also, looking at my flowers:

Doing henna...having henna to look at... (didn't get pictures of it developed, just with the paste still on...

And having my ten-year-old brother ask for a gyroscope, with his:

I was like, "A what-now?"
And then, "Can it look like a top?"

I'm sure they're supposed to be symmetrical and all that, but I just had to go with what I could...

Next you should be seeing some Sabriel and Love-Me Kyoko. Look forward to it!

*So cute, I might die from it...

I'm back from Chicago! And Boston, but more recently Chicago.

Where the river was still green a few days after the St. Patrick's celebration on Saturday.

There was definitely a cosmopolitan look (slightly different from Boston's) that most people were sporting, but I tried not to feel fashion-free.
I was setting out to not dress like everyone else, and hey! I succeeded!
But when I wasn't thinking of fashion I was having a great time....

To see the first set of my photos from Chicago, including the adorable neighborhood my friend Sofia (pictured above) lives in, you can go to this sekrit Flickr account where I am crowehaven... {ooh, fancy}

Meeting Chicago

I think it would be funny to open an Etsy shop of non-traditional travel postcards. Of all the places *I've* taken funky photographs.

Anyone in Chicago with a foolish desire to see me?
Because I'm going to be there tomorrow, until Tuesday. ^_^

I have all the intense essential oils in my fingers from giving someone a healing massage. I feel gooood.
But that's not the only reason!
This morning I cruised an Acton bookstore and Trader Joe's with [livejournal.com profile] gjules Oh, and I brought her to the Boxboro Cemetary. Very important stop.
The sorts of things that're loads of fun in the right company. (She is the right company.  She promised me more graveyards!)

Fabulous place to be buried. Though it's been out of fashion some 150 years.

I wanted a good shot of the cracked open tomb-door, and then told Genevieve, "Now I'm going to have to look in there."
But it was stoned off just inside. I got the sense of peril with no terrible revelations...yay!

so I thought you might like this...

Aaron Zenz is an illustrator. He hosts a blog of his kids' art, showcasing the zany humor of small people equipped with crayons and markers. As a 3 year anniversary, he opened up to "fan-art" of any of the pictures, and was surprised by the response.

Shannon Hale (whose blog I found this link on) said she loved how the pictures (many by other illustrators) "celebrate, not correct". That about sums it up...

Kid-Art Tributes
Gorgeous stuff in here.

Talking to a Chinese friend, was sent to look up Beijing's Summer Palace. The scale of the place is mindblowing, but I have a thing for bridges and autumnal tones, so here. Something pretty, from Natl. Geo...

Rounding it out, a poem snippet:

..The leaves like late butterflies
Twist and turn, falter and fall
In the outside racing, interlocking winds

I'm almost finished writing the Scar, much forwarded by yesterday's noisy loitering in wait of a changed flight. The title of this is a quote from today's writing, unfortuntately representative of the subtlety I'm fumbling without in the mesh of sensuality and understated violence of the story. Help me, Revisi-on Kenobi, you're my only hope--and far-fetched at that!

I have some cool images from Panama to share: feel free to use these if you like, though be sure to let me know and stroke my ego.
This is not just a tourist's slideshow. If it were you'd be swamped with over a thousand three hundred photos, and you would die. Yes.
These ones now are all from cemetary visits. Trees, tropics, and housing to come.

Any yours truly at the Jewish cemetary, population 1:
