Today I'm working on Nemesis, not World Domination 101

...and who knows if WD101 is worth even working on. That's what I'm thinking about as I take a break, really.

of course, right now all I want to do is watch K-Dramas, because revising is hard. But Nemesis is THIS close!

So. No k-dramas. I won't lie and say I haven't been reading manga in between, though.

The weird thing about being into the pop culture of a country other than the one you're writing for is that I end up having these ideas playing in my mind based out of tropes that are totally foreign to the body of work in my native language.

Am I in trouble, I wonder?

In Which We Initiate Mission: Revise World Domination 101 from Scratch

As is typical, the first day of NaNo was a complete wash for me.

(Some year I don't have to answer for my productivity after November AND have a great idea, I'm going to do the whole waiting until the stroke of midnight thing with people. But that'll have to be a day I don't work, which, see above.)

In my tentative little NaNoREVISEMo plans, though, first two days were for reading the manuscript, the third scheduled to be for the writing of GAME PLANS.

So. Today is a wash to things besides watching soccer and reading manga, anyhow, I'm going to go read that baby!

:stand in for Jude Winchester:

WAIT, WHY DOESN'T HE GET THE GIRL
DID THAT WHOLE SERIES SKIP HIS LOVELIFE?!

I wish so badly my eyes were going to last a few seconds more, so I could write something productive tonight.

Being far too used to meetings, I wrote AND critiqued people who were reading last night, at the same time. I'd apologize, but I do that to bestselling/award-winning/good authors' published books, too. Besides. I have to take what I can get right now. (No offense.) This confession is my self-abnegation.

Things I have to do Monday other than writing (sadly, there will be no Poisson...) are Legion, but do not include being disenfranchised and critical of: Poets on critique forums, Young Adult/MG writers at NaNo, my own ability to walk away from demeaning situations, the course of the world, the sick state of humanity, or My Own Ability to Accrue Library Loans to Read and Return At Inopportune Times.

~ I am too tired to be making judgment calls on the worth of World Domination 101, but does that stop me?
[In Case You Were Wondering: the judgment call is wavering at "this stupid story is too flawed to be worth this"]

~ I have to repot baby dills, and put together hand-painted spindles to sell in the shop in the next 48 hours or it won't get done this week. [This is very sad to me.]

If I'm back Monday, know that I am not getting half of those Legion things done. Tomorrow the only thing on my agenda (I mean, besides sleeping like the dead until *sunrise*) is to become a good showman and run through a prototypical concert, but that relies on other things than my willpower alone, which is sadder than the likelihood of me selling spindles or dill plants this fall.

O come, Desire of Nations, bind
In one the hearts of all mankind:
Bid ev'ry sad division cease
And be Thyself our Prince of Peace.

Rejoice! Rejoice!
Emmanuel shall come for thee, O Israel.

This morning I was [re]given the gift of personal internet access. It is a wondrous thing.

I've been having fun being the posessor of monies to buy people presents. And tickets to Panama. And spending money to enjoy the thought of going.

It's funny to be rich.

But I am. Not in most peoples' perspectives, but to me? I am verra, verra well off.

I can read again. I read The Changeling Sea, which is a book that I feel richer by merit of reading it. I'm working on L'Engle's A Circle of Quiet and fascinated that her Walking on Water is rivaled here. For any YA Readers:

So, I'm feeling quite rich and comfy at the moment. Hobbitishly content, as it were.
I'm not quite done with the Shadow Thieves (Chronus Chronicles 1.) but it is lovely, lovely work.
I love YA novels.

I've revised for VP--as good as it's going to get, I decided. To my immense relief. Once I'm decided I tend to be pretty stable despite my own character, a trait I'm sure other TCKs share.
The universe ends, and that's it. Drink up and get going, despite the drama previously.

So today's teaser will be private (not on UFF), as it's from a "sci-fi" superhero novel which I still love despite the long labor I have done and am not close to half done with. It's very short, also.

As for current work, I didn't do anything mean to Jess today, but Pythian was devastatingly practical in this scene. I'm at 98 pages and rediscovering the pacing for a whole novel on this one, which is relieving. Hmm. I just had a thought of how to extend the "between" novel...

Shaim, however, has been forced to blow off his friend for Romon-the-gang-liaison, who was mad at him for disappearing to play the day before. Also, random girl attention.
How mortifying.
